We’ve all dreamed about it as kids, and maybe even adults. But how would you actually come into contact with them? Here are a couple ways that you might find useful.
Using Their Agency
I know of 1 particular agency that represents a couple of big players like Djokovic and Nadal. They offer lots of different opportunities to contact their players. You can book a hitting session with them or have lunch with them, imagine finding out what Nadal orders at restaurants! You can get a private meet and greet with the player of your choice I’m not too sure but you could probably also do it for an organization too.
Although this isn’t with a player you can get a “backstage tour” of an ATP or WTA tournament of your choice. Or something every single tennis fan has dreamed of sitting in a player’s private box and having cameras shine on them. Just think about sitting next to Jelena or Xisca and talking to them about their boyfriend/husband’s game. Or you can sit on the court during a pro’s practice session and hear all the coach’s tips.
On the website pricing is not stated nor does it say whether you can do other things that aren’t specified. You can do this with ATP and WTA players that they have signed.
The Agency is called Premier Tennis. You have to contact them for more information.
Contact Them Via Their Website
Another thing you can try is getting them through their official website although this doesn’t work a lot of the time it doesn’t hurt to give it a go.
The way this works is the email embedded in the “contact” page is actually there publicist’s email and only some go through to the pro, this doesn’t mean that fan mail is rejected though! All You have to do is find out if the professional has an official website here are a few too help you out below. Most of these players don’t have a contact page but dig around and you might find an email or something. Remember you can’t write just anything because lots of the emails don’t get read so try putting thought into your emails and use appropriate language.
Give Their Social Media A Go
Most of the big players don’t go through their Social Media Direct Messages, but if you target a bit of a smaller player it might work. Younger players are a lot easier to contact because they are new to the pro scene and are trying to give themselves the feeling of having a fanbase that is why they will probably go through their DM’s.

Another thing you can try is Twitter. If you put enough thought and effort into your message it might go viral or viral enough anyways, just be sure to actually tag them and keep your tweet relevant to them. Make sure it is something they can answer publically and would be willing to do so, now remember what falls under that category depends on the player. A player won’t start a DM conversation just to answer your question and he definitely won’t give out his contact publically or to you, because remember that you are still just a stranger to him or her and you can’t be trusted.
Walk Around The Grounds At A Tournament
Although most people don’t think that this will actually work you’d be surprised with the results. This may not be the best way to actually sit down and talk or text with your pro, but hey you might get an autograph! Most people I talk to think that the players wouldn’t just walk around the grounds, but they do have to get to the restaurants, lounges, stadiums, taxis and practice courts somehow right?
I’ve talked to some people who have gone to professional tournaments like Indian Wells. Those who have actually been there have almost always said they were surprised with how down-to-ground the players were and how they would just walk around the grounds like they weren’t under the tennis world’s spotlight.
Tips For If You Live Near One
Try doing what they do, almost mimic their routine. If you know they work out at a gym you try out some gyms in town and you might end up running into him or her, of course, this is usually for smaller players, bigger players will have their own private gyms.
All players have to eat whether it be at home or at a restaurant. The biggest players will go out every once in awhile because of teams meetings and such the only thing is though, you’ll need quite a bit of spare cash because they tend to prefer more fancy and expensive restaurants.
Splash the cash! Attend some movie premiers, try signing up for premium fan clubs if something like that exists. If your player enjoys culture try some film festivals and art galleries. Dig around the internet see if they’re sponsoring someone or something and try contacting them get to the player indirectly.
If time is money invest some of it into a fan page establish a presence in his world of fans. Try being active on his or her social media page think of something smart to put in the comments, and if your comment blows up enough maybe he’ll reach out. Take your chances with giveaways and contests you never know.
Conclusion
Let’s face it, we’ve all tried doing it some have succeeded some haven’t. I’ve had interviews with Stefanos Tsitsipas and Robin Haase, even though they weren’t the most “relevant” players getting that response was awesome. I did it by just simply Direct Messaging them, I never really expected it to work though, I just took my chances like I would in my tennis match and I got something out of it. Many people would’ve hoped for better players, I would have been absolutely astounded if came into contact with someone even better but Tsitsipas and Haase were more than enough for me. Maybe it’s easier to contact retired pros and not current day pros.
That’s it for this article, hope you guys found it useful!
